Understand Your 4 Functions
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®
Understand How You Naturally Take In Information, Make Decisions, and Approach the World
Why can two intelligent, capable people look at the same situation and come to completely different conclusions?
Why does one person want to make a decision quickly while another wants more information? Why does one focus on logic while another instinctively considers the impact on people? Why do some people need to talk things through while others need time to think before responding?
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) provides a practical framework for understanding these differences.
Based on Carl Jung’s theory of psychological type, the MBTI sorts the four psychological functions and identifies the order in which you naturally prefer to use them. The result is a clearer understanding of how you process information, make decisions, communicate, and approach your work and relationships.
Understand the Mental Functions You Naturally Prefer
The MBTI helps you understand the psychological functions you use to perceive information and make decisions, and the order in which those functions are naturally preferred.
This matters because people do not simply have different opinions. They can be paying attention to different information, processing it differently, and using different criteria to reach a conclusion.
Once those differences become visible, behavior that may previously have seemed frustrating, inefficient, overly emotional, too analytical, impulsive, or resistant can be understood in a very different way.
MBTI gives you a shared language for recognizing those differences without assuming that one way of thinking is better than another.

Use the MBTI Wherever Differences in How People Make Decisions, Gather & Process Information, and Communicate Matters
Leadership Coaching
Understand how your natural mental preferences shape the way you lead
.Leaders tend to trust the ways of thinking and deciding that come most naturally to them. That can influence what they notice, the information they ask for, how quickly they make decisions, how they communicate expectations, and what they expect from other people.
In leadership coaching, I use MBTI to help leaders recognize those preferences and understand how they may be experienced by people who process information and make decisions differently. This creates greater leadership flexibility and helps leaders adapt their communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and approach to different people and situations.
Team Development
Give your team a language for understanding why people approach the work differently.
Many team frustrations begin with the assumption that other people should think, communicate, or make decisions the way we do. MBTI helps teams recognize the different psychological functions members naturally rely on and how those differences affect communication, problem-solving, planning, decision-making, conflict, and collaboration.
I use MBTI to help teams move beyond labeling those differences and use them more intentionally, so the team can benefit from different perspectives rather than letting thembecome a source of misunderstanding or frustration.
Personal & Relationship Development
Understand why people who care about each other can experience the same situation so differently.
Differences in psychological type can influence what we notice, how we communicate, how we make decisions, how much structure we want, and what we expect from the people around us. MBTI can help individuals and couples understand these differences without automatically interpreting them as a lack of caring, compatibility, or effort.
Used in personal and relationship development, it provides a useful starting point for increasing self-awareness, appreciating differences, and becoming more deliberate about how you communicate and respond to others.
MBTI and Striving Styles
Two Different Assessments for Understanding Personality
The MBTI and the Striving Styles Personality System® share their foundation in Jungian psychological type, but they serve different purposes.
The MBTI provides the sorting of the four psychological functions and helps you understand how those functions are organized within your personality.
Striving Styles uses that same psychological type foundation and goes considerably further by connecting personality to predominant psychological needs, emotions, self-actualizing and self-protective behaviors, and development.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®
Understand the psychological functions you naturally prefer and how they influence the way you take in information, make decisions, communicate, work, and relate. The MBTI is administered by a Certified MBTI Practitioner and cannot be taken on its own.
Striving Styles® Personality System
Go deeper into the emotional needs connected to those functions, the self-protective behaviors that emerge when those needs aren’t met, and the developmental work required to become more flexible and effective. The Striving Styles can be taken online and contain the same 4-letter code that the MBTI provides, as well as an SSPS Developmental Workbook.

MBTI Is Most Valuable When You Apply What You Learn.
Knowing your four-letter type can be interesting. Understanding the psychological functions behind it is much more useful.
The real value of MBTI comes from applying that insight to situations where differences in personality are affecting communication, decision-making, leadership, teamwork, or relationships.
As a Certified MBTI Practitioner, I do more than provide an assessment report. I help you interpret your results, understand your function preferences, and connect them to the behaviors and situations that matter to you.
The goal is not to tell you who you are. It is to give you a clearer understanding of how your mind naturally works and how to work more effectively with people whose minds work differently.
