Your MBTI Personality Type Is Not the Whole Story
How Jungian Functions and Emotional Needs Shape the Adaptive Persona
A 10-Week Podcast Series with Dr. Anne Dranitsaris
Your personality type can tell you a lot about how you think, feel, decide, and relate to others.
But your type is not the whole story.
Many people know their MBTI type and still find themselves repeating the same emotional patterns. They understand themselves intellectually, but still react, please, control, withdraw, overthink, rescue, avoid conflict, or lose themselves in relationships and work.
This series goes beneath personality type to explore the emotional needs and protective patterns that shape the adaptive personas that emerge from the four functions of the brain.

Across the 10 weeks, you will explore how the adaptive persona forms around each Jungian function when emotional needs are not fully met in childhood and the capacities of the Authentic Self are not yet developed.
You will look at how each function has a natural gift, but also a protective version that may already be operating beneath your awareness.
You will also learn how these patterns are not simply personality traits. They are protective strategies shaped around emotional needs that could not be met consciously when you were younger.
As the series unfolds, you will begin to identify the emotional need that drives the behavior of each self-protective pattern.
You’ll also identify the capacities of the authentic self that needs to be developed so your natural gifts can serve your growth, relationships, work, and self-expression instead of continuing to operate from fear, shame, control, approval-seeking, avoidance, or self-protection.
Why This Matters
Self-awareness is important, but it is not always enough to change the patterns you keep repeating.
You may understand your type.
You may know your triggers.
You may recognize your relationship patterns.
You may even see your adaptive persona clearly.
But until you understand the self-protective relationship rules driving the behavior, the function the behavior serves, and the need the behavior is trying to meet, the pattern will keep returning.
This series helps you move from asking, “What is wrong with me?” to “What is this part of me trying to protect?”

The Invitation
Your adaptive persona was created to help you stay safe, connected, valued, competent, or in control.
But what protected you at one stage of life may now be limiting your capacity for intimacy, confidence, self-expression, boundaries, and emotional freedom.
This series will help you understand how you adapted, what you have been protecting, and how to begin returning to who you are meant to be.
