CEO Level
Your score was between 30 – 40
This is the highest result on the quiz and suggests that you live mostly from your adaptive, codependent persona.
This result suggests that your life may be strongly organized around anticipating, managing, caretaking, and responding to others’ needs and emotions. At this level, the self-protective persona is doing most of the work, while the authentic self may feel distant, unfamiliar, or difficult to access.
The CEO Level is like ground zero for development. You may believe it is your job to take responsibility for the emotions of others, even when doing so leaves you anxious, depleted, resentful, or disconnected from yourself. Your sense of self may revolve around being the caretaker, the responsible one, the one who notices what others need, prevents conflict, keeps things going, or makes sure no one is upset.
You may have spent so long anticipating and managing others that your own needs feel unclear, inconvenient, or undeserved. You may not know what you want until someone else has already told you what they need. You may allow yourself to be used, hoping that someone will eventually see you, appreciate you, or recognize how much you have done.
At this level, cues of possible displeasure can feel deeply threatening. A look, a tone, a delay in response, criticism, silence, disappointment, or another person’s unhappiness may quickly trigger guilt, fear, anxiety, or a sense that you must do something to make things right.
You may overfunction as a way of managing discomfort. You may say yes when you are exhausted, apologize when you have not done anything wrong, take responsibility for problems that are not yours, or suppress your needs to avoid rejection, conflict, anger, or reprisal.
From a developmental perspective, this means the adaptive persona has become the primary way you show up in relationships. It has been working hard to keep you safe, useful, needed, and accepted. But it has also kept you disconnected from your authentic self, your needs, your limits, your preferences, and your entitlement to have a life of your own.

Developmental delays cause us to become stuck in adaptive patterns of behavior that prevent us from developing the capacities of our authentic self.
Become Who You Are Meant to Be
Your development is about getting to know your authentic self. At this level, the work is not to suddenly become assertive, set hard boundaries, or make dramatic changes before your nervous system has enough safety to support them. When someone has spent a lifetime in service to others, even small steps toward self-expression can trigger fear, guilt, panic, or emotional collapse.
Self-awareness comes before action.
The first step is to begin noticing how often your attention is outside yourself. You may be scanning other people’s moods, anticipating what they need, trying to prevent disappointment, or adjusting yourself to keep things calm. This has likely become so automatic that it feels normal. The developmental work begins by slowing this down and asking, “What am I feeling? What do I need? What am I afraid will happen if I do not take responsibility here?”
At this stage, the goal is to begin remembering who you are beneath the caretaking role. That may involve noticing your preferences, naming your needs, recognizing your limits, and becoming aware of the ways you have learned to disappear inside responsibility for others.
The work needs to happen in small, supported steps. You may begin by pausing before automatically saying yes. You may practice noticing resentment as a signal that a need has been ignored. You may begin identifying where guilt takes over and convinces you that caring for yourself is wrong. You may learn to separate another person’s emotional reaction from your own responsibility.
This level is not about blaming yourself for having these patterns. These behaviors developed for a reason. They were once your way of staying emotionally safe, connected, and acceptable. But now, the work is to begin building a relationship with the self that has been neglected.
As your self-awareness grows, your authentic self becomes more available. You start to recognize that you are not here only to manage, soothe, fix, please, or carry others. You have needs. You have feelings. You have limits. You have a voice. You have a life that belongs to you. This stage is the beginning of becoming who you are meant to be. The work now is to take baby steps toward self-recognition, self-care, and self-trust so the authentic self can begin to emerge from beneath the self-protective persona.
